The newly appointed ministers in Atishi's government have taken charge of their respective departments at the Delhi Secretariat. They pledged to continue the work initiated by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

ABP News reports that Atishi officially took over as the Chief Minister of Delhi on Monday, September 23. Upon her arrival at the secretariat, she noticed two chairs in her office, one of which was notably larger and empty.

AAP leader Atishi took charge as the chief minister of Delhi on Monday, and kept the chair used by her predecessor Arvind Kejriwal empty and “waiting for him”, a move the BJP and the Congress said was a “grave insult” to the post.

She did not sit on the chair used by Kejriwal and said that his chair would remain unoccupied in the chief minister’s office. She sat on a white chair, which was placed next to Kejriwal’s chair.
