Sir Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron discussed how to put Ukraine in the “strongest possible position going into the winter” amid uncertainty over long-term US support for Kyiv following the election of Donald Trump.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will meet French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday to discuss ways to help Ukraine, after the election of Donald Trump has raised concerns of reduced U.S. support for the war against Russia.

France and the UK will support Ukraine for as long as necessary "to thwart Russia's war of aggression", French President Emmanuel Macron and Sir Keir Starmer have said.
