Invest 99L is likely to develop into a tropical depression on Wednesday in the central Caribbean, which could lead to the possible upgrade to a tropical storm Thursday and potentially becoming Hurricane Sara by Friday.

The National Hurricane Center now has high odds for Invest 99L developing into at least a tropical depression, if not Tropical Storm Sara over the next two days and near certain odds it'll happen within a week.

The tropical wave we've been tracking in the Central Caribbean was tagged Invest 99-L on Tuesday afternoon. It will likely become a tropical depression by the end of the week. As the system moves into the western Caribbean Sea,

“Next week, what will become the next named storm of the hurricane season, can impact Florida. Invest 99L is likely to become a tropical depressing in the next day or so and continue to strengthen through the end of the week,” Max Defender 8 Meteorologist Amanda Holly said.

Florida residents should continue to monitor Invest 99L closely, especially if it becomes Tropical Storm Sara.
