Houthi rebels in Yemen have fired a missile at Israel hours after a wave of Israeli airstrikes hit Yemen's main airport as the World Health Organization's director-general was about to board a flight there.

Tensions remain high between Israel and Iran after tit-for-tat long-range strikes in recent months and threats of further military action from both sides. The IDF and the Yemeni Houthis also continue to exchange attacks.

Much like Hezbollah miscalculated with its 15-month-long war of attrition against Israel, Yemen’s Houthi rebels risk being the next target in Israel’s campaign to rewrite the Middle East’s political map.
