Wilson signed with the Steelers for the veteran minimum — $1.2 million. On Tuesday, Giants general manager Joe Schoen was asked if he wished he did anything different with the quarterback position, specifically in regard to Wilson, who visited with them.

Schoen's bye week news conference was a no-win situation for the GM. Unfortunately, that made it a lot like the team he has assembled.

Joe Schoen didn’t hesitate. “Yes,” he said. He had just been asked Tuesday if expected to return for Year 4 as the Giants’ general manager, even if his 2-8 team doesn’t win some more games down the stretch of yet another lost season.
