Holiday travelers returning home this weekend could contend with more delays at airports as severe thunderstorms intensify in the South and a parade of atmospheric river-fueled storms slams the West.

Severe thunderstorms are firing up in parts of Texas and could trigger high winds, hail and potential tornadoes.

A barrage of severe weather sweeping across the Northwest and multiple south-central states could hamper post-holiday travel, forecasters warn.
