Led by a record-setting night by John Tonje, Wisconsin basketball made a statement Friday in a 103-88 win over Arizona.

John Blackwell and Max Klesmit combined for 27 points in the victory, walk-on guard Jack Janicki played a big role with nine points off the bench, transfer forward Xavier Amos finished with eight points with two three-pointers made and Kamari McGee continued to excel in his role off the bench.

The University of Arizona men’s basketball team faced its first loss of the season in a crushing 103-88 defeat against the University of Wisconsin Badgers.

Wisconsin’s biggest weakness against Arizona was its rebounding. The Wildcats out-rebounded the Badgers 52-28, including 24 offensive rebounds. That stat was the one thing keeping the game competitive as Wisconsin dominated on the offensive end. This stat will be one to watch when the Badgers enter Big Ten play.
