Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu has claimed citing reports that animal fats were being used in the preparation of Tirupati Laddus during Reddy's rule.

In response to the Tirupati laddu controversy, the head priest of Dudheshwar Nath temple in Ghaziabad has banned shop-bought sweets for offerings, urging devotees to opt for homemade offerings instead.

Ghee was used in the preparation of the sacred offering (prasadam) as well as burning a perennial lamp in the shrine.

PURI: The Odisha government on Tuesday decided to test the quality of ghee used for preparation of offerings at the Jagannath temple in Puri, an official said. The decision was taken amid the row over the alleged use of animal fat in the ghee with which the laddus offered at the Tirumala temple in Andhra Pradesh are prepared.
