San Diego County Thursday confirmed the first case of West Nile Virus in a human this year, in a 71-year-old man who became infected while traveling.

MANITOWOC – The first reported human case of West Nile virus in Manitowoc County this year was confirmed by the county Health Department Wednesday. The county joined Outagamie, Fond du Lac and Brown counties as counties in Wisconsin with reported human cases so far in 2024.

Two cases of West Nile virus have been reported in human patients in the city of Milwaukee. They are the first human cases reported this year in Milwaukee. At least eight other confirmed or probable cases in humans were reported elsewhere in Wisconsin as of Sept.
