OWEN ZILIAK, STATE JOURNAL The University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team has a star, and the Badgers captured one of the biggest early season wins in program history.

A pregame ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of back-to-back Final Four teams, memorializing Badgers head coach Bo Ryan in the rafters, and a Stripe Out, Wisconsin found a way to eclipse all the fanfare by improving to 4-0, matching its best start of the last six seasons, with a 103-88 victory over Arizona.

Wisconsin came back with a 21-9 spurt that allowed it to re-extend its lead to double-digits. Three-pointers were the key during this stretch as John Tonje hit two from beyond the arc and Xavier Amos and Kamari McGee drained the others.

Friday night is a big one for the Wisconsin men's basketball team, but not just because #9 Arizona in town. At halftime the Badgers will recognize Naismith Hall of Fame head coach Bo Ryan and raise a banner with his name into the rafters of the Kohl Center.
