The Brooklyn Nets were down 105-103 with under 40 seconds left Monday night in New Orleans. Brooklyn had the ball and possessions were growing scarce. First-year head coach Jordi Fernandez was trying to call a timeout.

Cam Thomas scored 10 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter, including a 3-pointer for the lead in the final minute, and the Brooklyn Nets defeated New Orleans 107-105 to extend the Pelicans’ losing streak to five games.

The Brooklyn Nets (5-6) had been looking to go back to Brooklyn with at least one win in their three-game road trip after losing at the Boston Celtics and at the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of a back-to-back.
