Hours after the PM’s Pune visit was cancelled on Thursday, NCP (SP) working president and Baramati MP Supriya Sule had suggested that Modi should go for the online inauguration of the Metro line, saying he has inaugurated the “same” project five times in the past.

The prime ministers will inaugurate the Metro corridor virtually and will also lay the foundation stone for the Swaraj-Katraj Metro stretch, further widening Pune's transportation infrastructure.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a new underground Metro corridor from Civil Court to Swargate in Pune on September 26, enhancing rail services and facilitating easier commutation for passengers.

Prashant Jagtap, Pune City President, NCP (SP), said, "For the preparation of the event, the administration spent a lot of money. This expenditure should be incurred from the PM's pocket. It is kind of a joke that the country's PM is visiting Pune every year to inaugurate the same metro line."
