The man arrested on murder and arson charges in the death of a woman who was set on fire inside a subway train has been arraigned, while police said the identity of the victim was still “pending.”

Prosecutors on Monday charged 33-year-old Sebastian Zapeta-Calil with first- and second-degree murder and first-degree arson in connection with the death of a woman who died after being set on fire in a New York City subway train a day earlier.

The man accused of killing a woman on a New York City subway train by setting her on fire was charged with murder and arson in an initial court appearance on Tuesday.
