Thousands of utility workers are being sent to areas most likely to be affected by Hurricane Helene, Duke Energy and Florida Power & Light said.

As Hurricane Helene approaches Florida's Big Bend Region as a Category 4 hurricane, Central Florida counties are feeling the secondary impact of the major storm. According to Duke Energy reports, hundreds of outages have been reported across Central Florida.

The utility company with the largest number of customers affected was Florida Power & Light Company, which had 88,722 clients without power. It was followed by Tampa Electric, with 7,080 customers cut off in the state. Here are the major outages by utility in Florida:
