The BCCI plans to unveil new retention rules for the IPL mega auction, allowing teams to retain up to five players and scrapping the Right to Match op

In a recent meeting with the owners of all 10 IPL franchises, BCCI found out that most owners were in favor of retaining between 5 to 6 players.

According to a report in The Indian Express, the board will allow five retentions for the IPL 2025 mega auction and there will be no RTM card option available. The RTM card option was made available in the IPL 2018 mega auction but was not available in the IPL 2022 mega auction.
