The Maccelli, Kerfoot, Crouse line was tested for the second consecutive game and accounted for six of Utah’s total 16 shots on goal. Maccelli and Crouse were in the top five for time on ice — 16:55 and 16:30, respectively. While they did not score, the pairing pushed the pace.

The house always wins. That’s the lesson Utah Hockey Club learned in its trip to Las Vegas on Friday night. An evenly matched first two periods made some wonder if the game would need overtime, until the Vegas Golden Knights took control in the third period to defeat Utah HC 5-2.

Knights star Jack Eichel tied things up later in the second period, and Vegas' experience won out in the third. Utah was without Clayton Keller, Mikhail Sergachev, Nick Schmaltz, Dylan Guenther, among many others, from their top three lines.
